My first (new) MINI was a Black MINI Cooper with white roof, bought at the end of June 2002; it was the demo car of Herb Chambers MINI but had less than 100 miles and included all three packaged options:
I had heard nothing about the new BMW supported MINI until I was having my Lexus RX-300 serviced; one of the people there noticed my English accent and mentioned the new car, telling me that there was a dealership within a few miles. I immediately visited MINI Peabody and was very impressed by the styling and features of the new MINI. After test drives of both the MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S, I placed an order but would have to wait 9 months for the car!
I soon realized (being impatient!) that I wanted a MINI now, and I was lucky enough to find this MINI Cooper fully loaded with all three packages - including sunroof, auto a/c, steering wheel controls for stereo and cruise, etc.
I also had the driving (rally) lights added, because they make the car look even more special!
During the nine months that I owned this car, I drove about 8000 miles and made a few minor changes - I upgraded the rear speakers to give a better sound quality, and replaced the plastic side vents with chromed ones. When my ordered GBMINI came in at MINI Peabody, I traded this car - the new buyer inherited my modifications as well as a very nice MINI:
